Hi hi, I am looking for a new roommate in East Village, New York 🌳🦋🫧.
It is a lovely, spacious 2-person apartment.

- Very central location: all walkable distances to LES, 14th street, soho, Greenwich
- 2min walk to Tompkins Square Park
- 15 min walk to Trader Joe’s
- Bus at 2min walk
- 15 min walk both to 1st Ave, and 2nd Ave subway stations
- Surrounded by amazing restaurants, coffeeshops, and bars
- Surrounded by many community gardens, the closest one being across from our appartment

Lease information:
- The bigger room (approx. 128 in x 112 in) will be available from August 1st. Lease is until July 30, 2026, with the option to renew.
- The rent will be between $2700-3000 dollars monthly.
- First month rent + apartment security deposit upfront

Documents to prepare:
- Need to show 40x the rent, otherwise a guarantor is needed. (I use ‘The Guarantors’).
- Government-issued ID (passport or driver’s license)
- Proof of income (last 2–3 pay stubs or offer letter)
- Employment verification letter
- Tax returns (typically 1–2 years)
- Bank statements (last 2–3 months)
- Rental history or reference letter from previous landlord

A little bit about me 🦋
I'm Allysia, I'm 26 years old (they/she), Afro-Surinamese/Dutch by heritage, originally from the Netherlands, and currently studying abroad at NYU, pursuing a Master’s in Africana Studies.
I'm passionate about wellness—practicing yoga and meditation, cooking, drinking tea, going on walks, and organizing wholesome get-togethers with others. I love creative activities like collaging, painting, and writing. Exploring the city is one of my favorite things—wandering through different neighborhoods, trying new cuisines, visiting events, and checking out art exhibitions. I have a girlfriend who lives in Delaware; she visits once or twice a month, and I usually visit her about once a month as well.

What I’m looking for in a roommate
I’m looking for someone who is at least 25 years old and interested in building a friendly, warm connection—someone who enjoys hanging out, exploring the city together, and sharing meals, while also appreciating quiet time and personal space. It's important to me that our home feels cozy, calm, and welcoming. I’m hoping to live with someone who is clean, responsible, kind, and cares about the space. The apartment is already furnished, but I’d love to decorate it more together and make it feel like our own. Preferably no pets.
